The people in Afghanistan are suffering US President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw all of the US troops has led to nothing but destruction. Kabul has also fallen into the hands of the Taliban it’s the 1990s all over again for the people of Afghanistan. 1996 to 2001 the terror that was brought by the Taliban’s was unimaginable specifically for the women under the Taliban rule they can’t work, no education and woman can’t go to bazaar without a male companion this was the situation the Afghanis were facing.

Before 9/11 and the US invasion of Afghanistan, the Taliban controlled the majority of Afghanistan, with the Government forces holding only 5% of the country territory.

2001 INVASION

The US invaded Afghanistan on October 7, 2001, after the Taliban refused to hand over al-Qaeda’s leader, Osama bin Laden who was behind the attacks of 9/11 he was hiding in Afghanistan the Taliban’s were backing the group up when the US invaded the Afghan soil they overthrown the Taliban quickly and the majority of the territory was under the Afghan. But by 2006, the toppled Taliban had regrouped and was able to mobilise fighters in its battle against foreign occupiers and its allies.

Under George W. Bush more US troops were sent to Afghanistan and it devastated Afghanistan, with more than 40,000 civilians killed in attacks by both the Taliban and the US-led forces. At least 64,000 Afghan military and police and more than 3,500 international soldiers were also killed.

The US has spent almost $1 trillion on the war and reconstruction projects but the country still remains poor and its infrastructure in tatters.

But In 2011 under Obama Administration they allowed the Taliban for face to face negotiations for peace because the US had already spent a lot of money and US troops were sacrificing themselves for a different nation. And the negotiations also continued under the Trump administration and Kudos to him for this one thing Trump was the only one who handled the Afghanistan-Taliban situation well and a lot of money was spent on the Afghan forces to train them and get them well equipped with Drones, Artillery, and other things like reconstruction projects. Almost 2 trillion was spent by the US Government but was the Afghanistan army well prepared for the chaos they were about to witness.

2021 Biden was always against George Bush and Obama’s decision to send the US troops to Afghanistan because he thought that the US was wasting a lot of money and losing a lot of US troops so he decided to withdraw all of their troops back to the US and this resulted into nothing but chaos.

Taliban again started taking territories by the border and in a quick fashion, they conquered Afghanistan when the president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani fled away to UAE with his family the Taliban also took Kabul there was nothing but destruction civilians were killed and the unprepared army of Afghanistan was destroyed Joe Biden completely underestimated the Taliban because he though there is a peace agreement and they don’t have the strength but in a quick turn around the Afghanistan army were the real underdog.

Now, what is the future? Will it be the same or even worse.

PEACE!
